Anybody that goes to local burger restaurants on a regular basis probably has their favorite burger to order. Some folks love a standard cheeseburger with cheese, meat and maybe a condiment or two. Others love loading up their burger with the works: lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard, pickles and onion. Still others like jazzing up their burgers with things like bacon for an extra shot of flavor.

Whatever your burger pleasure is when you go to one of your local burger restaurants, you can’t go wrong with what you order. But if you’re looking for something different, if you’re looking for a change you should know that hamburgers are one menu item that restaurants are always tinkering with. It’s easy to put a unique twist on a classic burger or come up with something entirely new that restaurants then customers will enjoy.

If you’re looking for something new to try when it comes to hamburgers, consider these options the next time you stopped in for a burger at one of your local burger places:

  • Goober burger: If you’re looking for something really different, try a goober burger, which is a burger topped with melted peanut butter as well as some of the traditional burger condiments. Sounds crazy right? Give it a chance. If you’re a fan of peanut butter, this adds a lot of creaminess to the burger and gives you the right touch of salty sweetness that makes for a really unique flavor combination.
  • Impossible burger: You’ve more than likely seen all of the commercials from fast food places hawking their brand-new impossible burgers. If you’re wondering what they are, they are plant-based burgers which promise to taste exactly like a grilled beef burger with pink color, smoky flavor and a char that makes it look exactly like a regular hamburger. As you’ve probably seen, the people in these commercials swear they can’t taste the difference between a regular burger and impossible burger. It may sound like a strange concept but as an old adage goes, don’t knock it till you’ve tried it.
  • Breakfast burger: If you love breakfast and you love burgers, you get the best of both worlds with this one. Depending on where you go you might see a burger topped with a fried egg, bacon, American cheese and maybe even some kind of hash browns. Essentially what you have here is a nice cross between a breakfast sandwich and a hamburger. If you’re looking for a little bit of a different texture, you can order your egg sunny side up to add some creamy yolk.
  • Spicy burger: If you’re someone who loves spicy sauces on chicken wings or nachos, try adding some spice to your burger. You can either do this with condiments such as sauce or you can try adding peppers like jalapenos to your burger you’re an extra kick. Depending on where you go, some restaurants might have super hot burgers on the menu as part of a food challenge or something. Again, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. Yes, jalapenos, habaneros and other peppers are hot, but they can also some flavor to your burger if you’ve willing to give it a shot.

It should be noted that some of these options may be regional specialties, but many burger joints around the country serve burgers like these as well as many others. So the next time you go out for a burger a drink, think about trying something different. Who knows, you just might find a new favorite burger.
